Company Background

In 1957, Litchfield Demolition and Recycling Company was established in Vancouver by Don Litchfield. Our company has developed the technology and become very successful in the recycling of buildings that are slated for demolition. We have the capacity to recycle a great percentage of any building, with a 92% recycle rate for 2005. Whether it is commercial, industrial, or residential, we can handle almost any job.

We are specialists in the field of deconstruction (i.e. dismantling buildings and recycling reusable building materials). From start to finish, Litchfield can provide deconstruction of any project, including crushing and recycling.

Litchfield Demolition has been a major force in the construction community throughout the province of British Columbia for the last fifty years. Projects have included the demolition of water towers, sawmills, marine structures, warehouses, theatres, apartment complexes, prisons, hospitals and, of course, houses. This included the excavations and site preparations for many large projects. We specialize in asbestos abatement.

D. Litchfield & Company Ltd. employs 25 full time employees. With seven excavators, plus front-end loaders, skid steer loaders, concrete crusher, aggregate screener and tractor trailer demolition trucks in our fleet, we are able to handle projects of all sizes. Our organization has a full time labour crew, experienced in salvaging and onsite aggregate recycling. We provide fast, efficient service, from simple tasks to the utmost complex demolitions.
